Ingredients for the fruit filling
8 cups fruit (berries stay whole; other fruit should be cut in 3/4" pieces
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Ingredients for the crisp
1 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Rinse and air dry fruit or berries on a clean tea towel
Gently combine fruit with sugar, flour and cinnamon and spoon into the bottom of an 8x10 baking dish
Combine the crisp ingredients with a spatula, pinch off small pieces at a tie and distribute evenly over the top of the fruit
Bake @ 375 for 35 minutes, until the fruit mixture is bubbly and the topping is nicely browned
Serve with milk, cream or ice cream
