The Japanese yuzu fruit looks like a small grapefruit, tastes very sour, and smells like a cross between a grapefruit and a tangerine. Its scent, light and citrusy, is a top favorite among our customers. On winter solstice it is a Japanese custom to float yuzu fruits in the steamy bathwater to release their volatile oils. I learned this little factoid from a health inspector years ago, who happened to be Japanese. He was all business as he inspected our site to make sure we were following proper procedures as we passed out food samples at our annual Christmas In the Country event. Afterwards he became curious about our products and lit up when he came upon my yuzu soap. He told me about the custom and promptly bought a bar of soap to take home to his wife for Christmas. Contains goatmilk, olive, coconut, castor, sunflower, palm kernal oils, unrefined free trade shea butter, pthalate free fragrance, natural colorant.
Our own recipe, handmade, loaded with shea butter and saponified with goatmilk and silk; contains olive, coconut, rice bran, castor & palm oils, shea butter, tallow and pthalate free fragrance.
